Ok I'll come clean it's just me but there is a serious point to this...

Setting up and maintaining a profitable and good looking website isn't nearly as hard or time consuming as you may think... how do I know?

Here's a brief case study... mine.

Once upon a time...

Just 3 short years ago I started 'The Property Coach' a business that followed my love and TV work of doing up decorating disasters and breathing new life into 'tired', 'old' properties.

I quickly realised that the only way to reach my likely market, people with properties that wouldn't sell, was to harness the power of the internet and show them the service that they needed.

And that's where it all began...

I was faced with the choice of:

• Going to a professional website designer (and paying a fortune).
• Using an on line template/ website building service.
• Buying the software and doing it myself.

Now I'm a bit stubborn and also a bit skeptical.. I figured that paying someone else to build my website would cost... I was right, but also I wouldn't have the knowledge or overall control once it was up and running... and you need to keep control!

I also worried that using a template would mean that my web site looked like thousands of others (which was true at the time but thankfully things have improved incredibly). Also I felt tying myself into monthly contracts would restrict me if I didn't like the end product.

My choice was to jump in and build my own website using web site authoring software. I chose Dreamweaver but there are many simple to use and free packages on the net.

So there I was, and after two weeks of burying myself away... only stopping to eat and sleep (and a few other things I'll leave your imagination to work out) I emerged with my very first website.

Now 3 years on I have learnt how to:

• Rank #1 on Google for chosen keyword search phrases
• Make money by converting visitors to customers.
• Developed a website that pays for itself with Adsense and Affiliate selling (it actually makes a really good income in it's own right).
• Has a regular client base built using my free eguide that works using an auto responder... helping to build confidence in my product and services.
• Has audio and video that helps keep visitors interested and eager to find out more.
• Looks good (in my opinion) and is easy to manage.
• Is fun and rewarding.
